Digital Retinal Photography
Family Eyecare now offers High Resolution Retinal Photography, which uses a computer-integrated digital imaging system to record a detailed view of the retina. Since nothing touches the eye, photo-documentation is painless. The image is immediately available to view by doctor and patient to make a quicker diagnosis.
Retinal photography assists in the detection and management of problems such as diabetic changes. About 25% of diabetics can also have bleeding eye which can be detected effectively with Digital Retinal Photography. Family Eyecare recommends an evaluation at least once a year for early detection and treatment.
Digital Retina Photography is also used in finding hypertensive retinopathy, macular degeneration, optic nerve disease, and retinal holes.
